Snowed In Review

Forecast: three days of snow, one closed road and a sixtieth birthday that nobody is going to enjoy as planned. Snowed In Crushi sets that scene in an Aspen chalet and lets the weather do the plotting.

Greg Ashby’s sixtieth is one day off when a blizzard seals the only way up to the chalet. That leaves Anya, his wife of a year, unhurried and hard to look away from, snowed in with Theo, a fidgety ski instructor of 24 who is close to a stranger to Greg. Three days pass under the drifts, and it slowly emerges that nobody inside is praying for the snowplow.

It is cheating-and-affairs fiction played for tension and flirtation, with three fictional adults making their own choices. Crushi tags it Cheating, Married Woman, Ski Instructor, Secret, Seduction, Forbidden and Winter, and we would add an eighth: Thermostat.

Snowed In Crushi: a chalet, a closed road and three long days

Our Tuesday test night ran with the heating turned down, for atmosphere. We lasted one episode before putting the thermostat back. The slow-burn pacing is the draw: episodes run from 1:11 to 1:24, and the series totals 6:30.

Here is the full run, with the free part first:

• Episode 1, ‘The Pass Is Closed’ (1:11): free
• Episode 2, ‘The Door Was Open’ (1:24): free
• Episode 3, ‘Your Turn’ (1:15): Premium
• Episode 4, ‘Two Can Play’ (1:23): Premium
• Episode 5, ‘Happy Birthday, Greg’ (1:17): Premium

Anyone with a Crushi Premium subscription of any length can watch the Premium episodes, with no per-episode charge. Pricing: $12.99 for a monthly Premium plan, about $8.33 a month on the yearly one. Who will love it, and who should leave it in the snow

Made for fans of slow-burn affair dramas, winter settings and secrets that pile up quickly. Leave it alone if infidelity plots are not your thing, or if you want chat characters: Crushi lists none for this series.

Heat level and a close cousin

Our heat score is 3 out of 5, steamy, with the slow burn doing more of the work than the heat. Adults only.

While He’s Away (4 episodes, 5:26, also heat 3) is the nearest sibling: another wife, another house, another man in the picture who is not the husband. It is shorter and cheekier, and Snowed In is the one to pick when you want a longer, quieter build. Both are ranked in our best Crushi shorts list.

Take the first two episodes while they are free, and see if the road reopens for you.
