The Big Show Review

One seat at the lip of the stage has been bought and left empty for a whole year of Fridays. We had a theory about the buyer by the end of episode 1, and The Big Show Crushi let us enjoy being half-right.

The club’s star is about to give her farewell performance, and two friends choose that exact night to tow a 26-year-old piano tuner inside, a man so shy he can barely hold eye contact, using somebody else’s birthday as the excuse. What nobody in the room suspects is that their reluctant guest is the Ghost, the unnamed patron behind that unused seat.

Everyone in the story is a fictional adult, and the strip-club setting is played suggestively rather than graphically, with more charm than shock.

The Big Show Crushi: the quietest man in the room

Crushi tags it with ten labels, among them Dancer, Strip Club, Secret Admirer, Shy Guy, First Time, Seduction and Threesome. Six episodes, 6:31 in total, about 1:05 each. Our team’s favorite title is ‘Hold the Last Note’ (1:04), which sounds like a piano tuner’s idea of flirting.

Three dancers are open for chat: Yara, Freya and Amara.

Why this is our highest-scored Crushi series

At 8.3, it sits above every other Crushi series in our ranking. Part of that is the hook: a shy hero with a secret and a room that does not know it. Part is pacing, with six steady episodes and none longer than 1:11. And part is that the free pair, ‘Warm-Up’ (1:03) and ‘Hold the Last Note’, sets up the Ghost nicely.

Who it suits, and who should skip

A good fit for fans of shy-hero stories, secret admirers and group dynamics with a stage-lights glow. Skip it if strip-club settings are not your scene, or if you prefer a single love interest.

Heat level and the other six-episode story

Hot is the word: a 4 out of 5 on our scale, with viewers 18 and over only.

Extra Credit (also 6 episodes, 5:50, heat 4) is the nearest comparison: another shy man at the center of a bet, with four friends instead of a stage full of dancers. Our best-of list for Crushi shorts puts the two side by side.

Take the two free episodes and see if the empty chair gets to you the way it got to us.
